The Spring Weight Loss Challenge Begins Monday, April 18
Change is hard and we believe the Weight Loss Challenge helps you make changes that bring immediate results as well as an ongoing healthier lifestyle. In addition to pounds lost, emphasis is placed on nutritious eating for weight loss, commitment and motivation, more effective fat-burning exercise routines, and education on healthy lifestyle issues, like stress management and sleep and metabolism and emotional eating.
What The Weight Loss Challenge Program Includes
This is a structured six-week program that includes weekly weigh-ins and access to special info-exercise classes on: Motivation; Nutrition; Fat-Burning Exercise; Sleep and De-stress; Metabolism; and Emotional Eating. Empower Fitness members pay an entrance fee of $20. There is also a special program for non-members which includes six weeks unlimited use of the gym, access to all regular 30 minute classes; a fitness assessment; as well as all aspects of the Challenge. The fee for non-members is $89.99.
How The Challenge Works
Each woman works independently to earn points based on healthy behaviors, for things like exercise, weigh-ins, weight loss, attendance at motivation/orientation meetings, and attendance at healthy lifestyle classes. Weekly point accumulations are posted. The individuals who end up with the highest point scores receive cash prizes. For several years, we have had two weight loss challenges per year since they are lots of fun, very engaging, and very motivational. I can tell you from personal experience that the Challenge works, since I have lost pounds every time I entered; I’m in again this Challenge to get off my six “Xmas Holiday” pounds that don’t want to leave me!

You have to be in it to win it, as the saying goes. Entering the Challenge does require some commitment, but any journey begins with the first step. All you have to do to join is sign up at the gym or call us at 609 882-4500. Then you’ll pay your entrance fee and receive your instructions and class schedule. At the beginning of the Challenge is the official weigh-in and during the first week, you’ll attend your motivation and nutrition meetings. Then the work and the fun begin! You’ll have a plan, and the program structure and point system provide clear direction. You’ll get lots of support from staff and encouragement from the other participants.
